VFI is an organization dedicated to empowering people with disabilities to live free and independent lifestyles. The VFI story is told through the real life story of James Carothers in a brief 7-minute video attached to this message. James is only one of over 900 people we serve.
James was able bodied when a traumatic brain injury led him to emergency brain surgery followed by 65 days in a coma and years of rehab in a nursing home. Today, he lives a completely independent lifestyle with the help of Voices for independence. VFI is all about fostering a self reliant, "can do" spirit; offering help only when requested while making no judgment on how the consumers of our services chooses to live their life.
After viewing the video, would you kindly forward this to (1) someone who might need our services, (2) someone who you know wants to know more about us and certainly (3) to someone who may want to donate to support our mission. We are a 501c3 non profit and we can use your help.100% of donated funds go directly to services. Additional information about VFI, including how to donate, is listed on our website at
