Steven Micheletti and Joanna Mountain present their landmark study on the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Using genetic data and historical records, one can make powerful inferences about the transatlantic slave trade. Micheletti and Mountain used 50,000 research participants to detect distant relatives of those who lived during the slave trade and analyze the representation of African countries across the globe.
